OVER THE PAST YEAR, I’ve really become more conscious of the ingredients in products that I am putting on my face. Things like mineral oil, parabens and sulphates can all wreak havoc on the skin, not to mention all of the other chemicals.

However, making the transition to organic and all-natural skincare and makeup products is actually quite difficult.Natural formulations aren’t quite as advanced as synthetic products yet, but integrating a few new natural products into your routine is already a step in the right direction.

I’m really loving the natural skincare products that are out there right now. For my look, I started by cleansing with Weleda’s Almond Soothing Natural Cleansing Lotion and a hot wash cloth. This cleanser is super gentle, and great for sensitive skin. Then, to slough away any dry, flaky patches, I exfoliated with Province Apothecary’s Regenerating & Stimulating Exfoliator. I love this product because the oatmeal granules are gentle and you can mix it with different natural ingredients like honey (acne-prone skin) or yogurt (oily skin) depending on your skin type.

After a thorough cleanse, I sprayed on Province Apothecary’s Invigorating and Balancing Toner and finished with Aurelia’s Cell Revitalise Day Moisturizer. Aurelia’s moisturizer smells heavenly and has the power of probiotics.

Since this is all about natural products, I thought I would go for a natural look–so no foundation. Only a bit of concealer under the eyes (which I’ll admit–was the un-natural Lancome Effacernes), a smudge of eyeliner (also un-natural Clarins Khôl Eyeliner) and a swipe of mascara (again, the synthetic Clarins Be Long). But! I redeemed myself with my lips and cheeks. I prepped my pout with Province Apothecary’s Repairing & Conditioning balm, then applied RMS’s Lip2Cheek in Smile, which I used on both cheeks and lips for a healthy, peachy glow.

From Day to Night with a Cat-eye and a Pink Lip

LET’S BE HONEST–everyone and their mother will be wearingreds and golds to their holiday parties, so wearing a classic red lip will not make you stand out. Time to go back to the drawing board.

Why not switch it up with a bright pink lip? It’s unexpected for winter, and is a quick and easy way to change up your look before heading out to that after work holiday party.
I paired this lip with a cat eye–I used a brown felt-tipped eyeliner from Smashbox (which makes it easy as pie to quickly draw a flick in any office bathroom) over top of my normal, everyday eye makeup. You’ll want to make sure your everyday eye makeup is pretty neutral that day.

For the shocking pink lip, I mixed RMS’ Lip Shine in Sacred with Aveda’s Winterberry Lip Glaze to create a vivid, cool-toned pink. They are both glossy in texture, which means you won’t need to worry as much about touch ups between eating and drinking, and your lips will stay hydrated.

This is ridiculous. New bag (old faithful is getting repaired), new lip products, new post. No fewer than 7 lip products this season. A girl’s gotta have options! And for all of those who think I’m too vain for having 7 lip options, well, haters gonna hate.
RMS LipShine in Sacred: Even though it is now Fall (how is it so cold already?), I still love this hot pink. Buildable colour and shine, and fades to a pretty stain. Instant glamour and a pop of colour for when Fall makes your face look sad and pale.
Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Rosé: A super-hydrating, pretty pink. This balm has been a mainstay since Sephora offered it as the VIB birthday gift two years ago. I somehow managed to snap up a second birthday gift from that year and have not yet to purchase one of these balms yet. When the day comes that I run out of tube #2, I will finally go to Sephora and actually purchase one in full-size.
Nuxe Rêve de Miel: So hydrating, with the most luxurious texture and prettiest most delicious smell. Definitely my best impulse grab from France.
Avène Cold Cream Lip Balm: Great for when you’re all business and just need a quick swipe of balm. Hydrating and gives you a slight 90’s frosted lip (like Angela Chase). What’s not to love?
Elizabeth Arden 8-hour Cream: This cure-all has stayed in my bag since last winter, when I got eczema on my eyelids. I apply to protect my lids from the cold winds, to my cuticles, to my lips, or mixed into some hand cream.
Rodial Glam Balm Multi: Similar to 8-hour, this magic all-in-one has so many different uses, from lips, to face, to body.
Lipstick Queen Lipstick in Medieval: The newest addition to my purse collection. It’s quick and easy (it’s a balm and lipstick in one) and the perfect subtle red– a great colour to have in my purse for Fall.
Also in my bag: Eye drops, Matte FX and Stila Retractable Powder Brush, Snagless Hair Tie.

Even though it’s back to school, the beginning of September, etc., Fall doesn’t technically start until September 22nd. While most days we are willing to accept the crisper weather, chilly nights, and shorter days (not really), we can’t let go of the sunny, long days just yet (the weather is cruelly giving us a taste of the heat again this week). On cold days and nights, how do you create summer against Mother Nature’s will? Easy. Fragrance, Makeup and Nail Polish.

Fragrance- Cire Trudon Candle in Dada

I picked this handsome-looking candle up last Spring because I was just dying for Summer to start. After smelling a lot of heady, strong, manly scents from the collection, as soon as I smelled this eucalyptus, tea and mint concoction, I immediately knew it was coming home with me. This candle fills your space with a fresh, summery scent. The citrusy fragrance is perfectly evocative of sunny days.

Makeup- RMS Lip2Cheek and Lip Shine

These little pots in ‘Sacred’ and ‘Smile’ are sunshine in a lip product.

‘Sacred’ is the most perfect bright pink. You can build it up to different intensities, and it glides on as a gloss and is long-lasting as it wears into a stain. Perfect for rev’ing up a dull or pale face (thanks, Fall).

‘Smile’ is a pretty, peachy-apricot that works on your lips and cheeks. This little pot brings a sunny warmth to your look.

Nails- Rococo Polishes

No one says that you have to embrace the darker palette of Autumn’s polishes just yet! Rococo’s Bombshell and Kitsch will have you getting in a summery frame of mind every time you look at your nails. I’m especially loving the magenta pink of Bombshell on my toes. These creme formulas are thick and opaque and ensure full-coverage in just one coat. Pretty and time efficient!
