It’s all about gold for this coming spring–it evokes an earthier glow than silver, but is at the same time futuristic on the brows at Dior, on the clothes and on the runway at Dries Van Noten, and head to toe at Dolce and Gabbana.
As expected, spring pastels and florals as well, but remixed with an ’80s flair at Balmain (again with the touches of golds on the waist), and in quirky footwear at Rochas, reflected the light washes of colour with ornate mouldings in the buildings of Paris.
The most incredible feats of makeup brilliance were seen at Givenchy, where makeup artist Pat McGrath created full-face sequin and glitter masks on the models’ faces, taking no less than 9 hours to create.
Dior created a forest wonderland for their show, while Chanel created a quirky gallery, presenting abstract sculptures/installations of their iconic products–the Chanel No.5 bottle, and their camellia flower. The girls reflected their artistic surroundings and clothing through their makeup, with colourful eyes that resembled an artist’s paint palette.
