What I’m always most excited about when I receive Dior beauty mail is the polishes–they’re the first thing I look for. I’m forever obsessed with their amazing formula and brushes, and their Gel Top Coat is one of my holy grail products.
Sunkissed and Sunwashed are perfectly pretty and light for summer, and would look amazing against tanned skin.
Sunkissed is kind of like a brighter, peachier version of Chanel’s Secret and looks clean, fresh and polished (pun intended). A great basic for any collection. This one needs three coats to be totally opaque.
Sunwashed, is a creamy pale yellow, which is actually the most wearable yellow polish I’ve ever seen. The formula is a bit thinner, so you will need a few coats for total opacity.
If you haven’t already figured, an investment in any Dior polish is money well spent, and these are no exception.
The Tie Dye Top Coat has me a little bit perplexed. At first I was excited for a more pigmented and slightly darker version of Nail Glow, but once I tried it on my bare nails, I realized that it looked a bit like raspberries had stained my nails.
Once trying it over Sunkissed, I was really excited because it turned the peachy polish to a gorgeous medium pink. However, upon closer inspection, my toes didn’t look that great. The top coat needs to be applied very carefully, or else it sorry of pools creating darker patches of top coat. The tie dye effect doesn’t come off as intentional, more like you are unexperienced at applying nail polish (at least in my opinion). Unfortunate.
However, this sheer top coat polish thing does seem to be coming into the stratosphere as a trend–YSL is releasing their Splash polish collection. So if a watercolour effect nail is what you are going for, then Dior’s top coat might be a good one for you.
