VASANTI // BRIGHTEN UP, LIPSTICK AND PICK ME UP

Just after Christmas, my co-worker and I were in the office kitchen talking about her Birchbox package, and told me her favourite item in the whole box was Vasanti’s exfoliator, Brighten Up.

Vasanti Brighten Up Exfoliator, Endless Love Gel Lipstick and Pick Me Up Illuminating Highlighter

She said that it had totally changed her skin and made it feel incredibly smooth, so, naturally, I hunted down my PR contact and got hold of some.

Admittedly, I didn’t really know too much about the brand, but chose a few extra items to try out, and I’m pretty impressed!

Vasanti Brighten Up Exfoliator

Brighten Up, first of all is quite a large tube, and at only $34, is quite the bargain for a good exfoliator–Kate Somerville’s Exfolikate is more than triple the price for WAY less product. Like Exfolikate, BU works with the power of microcrystals and enzymes. After gently massaging the crystals for a minute or so, I like to leave the product on for 2-3 minutes to let the enzymes resurface the skin. My skin feels like glass afterwards. Add this to your arsenal.

Vasanti Pick Me Up Illuminating Highlighter

Pick Me Up is Vasanti’s answer to the Touche Éclat–though much more shimmery–this is a highlighting and illuminating product. The shade I received, 1.0, is a gorgeous rose-goldy-bronze mix of microshimmers. PMU comes in 7 different shades. Vasanti Endless Love Gel Lipstick

I didn’t really know what to expect for the lipstick, but I am so impressed. Endless Love is a gorgeous, deep brick-red shade with a matte finish. The colour looks dark and intimidating in the bullet, but once applied it is brighter. The formula is described as “gel matte” and that really is accurate–it’s not creamy, but still applies smoothly like a gel. For a matte lipstick, it has a very comfortable feel–not dry at all, and it can be layered, depending on how rich of a finish you would like. Can’t wait to see what else this new brand comes out with!
