LANCOME // HOLIDAY 2014

You might remember a while ago, in the Shupette Cleansing Oil post, that I got to attend l’Oreal’s #Luxmas party, a preview of all of their holiday offerings.Lancome Holiday 2014 Parisian Lights Eyeshadow Palette and Powder

Lancôme had set up an adorable French café to display their holiday collection, Parisian Lights. All the bloggers had fun Frenchifying themselves with long black gloves and berets and choosing fun speech bubbles containing everything from ‘Oui! Oui’ to ‘Ooh La La’. With my heart belonging to my beloved France, I adored the display.

In my big Christmas present box, I received two items from Lancôme’s collection, their Limited Edition Poudre de Lumière and one of the Hypnôse eyeshadow palettes. As a whole, Parisian Lights is all about glitery gold and red.

The powder is ever-so-slightly shimmery (I tried to swatch it for you, but I just could not get the camera to pick up anything), completely translucent, and is housed in a glamorous hammered gold pot. Perfect for getting into the holiday season without going over the top on glitter and metallics. Dust all over the face and decolleté for a glow.

The eyeshadows are very powdery, however, the rosy shade is just gorgeous all over the eye, as is the dark gold. The two centre shades (other than the black) are quite glittery, and the black is very pigmented–you could use this one to line either dry or wet. Overall, a great palette for basics with a bit of glamour–perfect for creating a quick holiday smoky eye.

The entire collection contains:

2 eyeshadow palettes
3 mono shadows
2 lipsticks
3 polishes
Poussière d’or nail stickers
