We could probably say that Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray was one of the most revolutionary hair products of the last five years, and spawned countless copycats from Bumble and Bumble to Rusk to AG.

Shu Uemura Texture Wave

However, here comes Shu Uemera with a very good texturizing/finishing/wave inducing spray and it’s smells awesome.

I was previously a devotee of Bumble’s Thickening Dry Spun Finish, but my biggest gripe to faux windswept hair was that it felt like it was actually windswept—it became a huge, tangly mess that was stiff in texture and impossible to brush out. Why couldn’t I have messy, French hair that I could still run my fingers through?

Texture Wave is a bit of a hybrid between a volumizing and texturizing spray. I love to use it on third day hair, but you could really use it on any day. It adds natural-looking thickness and oomf that stays all day (and it’s pliable, brushable and touchable all day long). Think light and powdery–like a thinner, better dry shampoo.

This is a product you definitely want if your hair falls flat, or is looking limp, or if you have lank locks that need reviving.

My favourite way to apply it is by grabbing a bunch of hair and spritzing at it while I let pieces fall gradually. It’s also perfect for pumping up a pony and adding movement.

Obsessed. I seriously hate putting any kind of product in my hair, but this is one I love.
