When I opened up this packaging, I literally had to catch my breath. Gold!
This post is long and picture-heavy, so go grab a cup of tea before you settle in.
I mean, come on. Everything is at once elegant, adorable and stunning.
FYI: Since the collection is just being released today, not all of the links are available. I will update them as soon as they are online!
It is quite glittery, so you only need to brush on a very small amount. This is the treasure of the collection for sure. It is so beautiful and luxe.
And these Diorific polishes! What a perfect winter holiday collection: some sparkle, some darkness and a timeless red. The iridescent shades are gorgeous (Gold Equinoxe and Mirror), Shock, a neutral, ruby red (really reminds me of last year’s Rouge Rubis from Chanel), Smoky, a deep dark plum purple (darker and less grey than Chanel’s Charivari) and a show-stopping gold leaf-flecked top coat.
Plus, the bulbous bottles with gold toppers makes the holiday season feel extra luxurious, and looks amazing on display. My only wish to improve these polishes is that they have the same brush as the Dior gel polishes; Diorific has small, flat bottomed brushes. The stubby top of the brushes is also a little tricky to maneuver. However, the quality, opacity and consistency of the formulas is top-notch, as Dior polishes always are.
Ugh, who doesn’t love Dior’s eyeshadow palettes. They never fail to look beautiful in the packaging, and even more gorgeous once applied. Their shimmery shadows to me are like no other, producing a decadent, almost wet look.
This mono in Mirrors, is new to the permanent collection. It’s a very shimmery light, warm gold. Gorgeous.
Two new limited edition shades have been added to the Dior Addict gloss collection, Gold Rain and Pink Excess. These are both translucent, very shimmery shades, that don’t look overly glittery, but catch the light. The both have slight flecks of warm gold throughout, which gives a plumping effect, especially with Gold Rain.
For this look, I’m wearing all of the shades from the Golden Reflections palette–the lightest shade all over eye area, the light mauvey-shade on the lid, the khaki shade in the outer corner of the eye,in the crease, and along the lower lash line, then the blue shade on the outer corner and along the upper lash line. Unfortunately, these photos do not do the palette justice. They are gorgeous and not overbearing.
I’ve also got a touch of the illuminating powder along the tops of my cheekbones and Pink Excess on my lips.
The collection also features 6 new lipsticks, all flecked with shimmers of gold.
