And finally, Paris! I did not attend a single show this fashion month and even I’m exhausted (and I think everyones getting a little tired of the runway insta-videos). That being said, the shows this past week have definitely brought their A-game in the makeup department.
In Paris, we actually saw some more complex looks like smokey eyes using some bright colours– they used blue at Elie Saab and greens at Galliano.
Dior did a very simular eye to Fendi, using actual pastel-toned material to line the eyes.
Black, smudgy, statement eyes were very popular this week. Saint Laurent did an angular, very thick winged liner along with a bold brow.
Céline did a Cleopatra-esque take on winged liner, also taking it under the eye.
The ladies at Sonia Rykiel wore a matte-black smoky eye that was nothing short of dramatic.
The line was more graphic at Anne Demeulemeester– they brought it straight into the inner corners of the eye and right out to the very outer tips of the brows.
Miu Miu did a glossy lined eye.
Givenchy did a play on flicked liner using a taupe shadow and over-sized wings.
MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
We saw some more interesting hairstyles this week in Paris. Maison Martin Margiela and Jacquemus did a straight-out-of-the-pool look (and makeup to match), and Kenzo did an edgy fringed up-do.
Then, of course many designers went for simple makeup to compliment their collections. Stella McCartney and Chanel added a light pink shadow to the eyes to spice things up.
Mugler did a very classically feminine look, adding some liner on the upper lashline.
Valentino defined the eyes using brown shadows.
DRIES VAN NOTEN
And Dries van Noten added a gold stripe to center of the models bottom lip, adding a gorgeous and unexpected touch to a simple look.
