It’s Fall! Time for red, vampy lips again (not that I stopped wearing my Ruby Woo throughout the summer…).
I thought it was about time that I try out the much raved about Armani Lip Maestro, and why not in a bright red?
A lipstick, stain and gloss hybrid, this product works for you all.day.long. without settling into lines. Apply in the morning, and it will last and last, leaving you with matte, red-stained lips at the end of the day. If you’re a messy eater like me (I wipe my face a lot with napkins), a touch-up after lunch will do you well.
The formula itself feels nice on application–not goopy, thick or sticky whatsoever but soft and buttery. It imparts a slight gloss at first, eventually going velvety matte (less glossy and liquidy than YSL’s Glossy Stains) . It is super easy to apply, just go straight on to the lips, no liner needed.
The colour I’ve got, 402 Chinese Lacquer, is a bright, punchy, skin-clearing, orange-toned red with great coverage and pigment. Now, I’m not able to wear fully orange tones (looks horrible on me), but this one and Dior’s Tout Paris seem to have just the right amount that I don’t start to look yellowy. It’s still a red–just with a touch of orange.
