A few weeks ago, I saw Maleficent (I know, super late). My sister and I were in awe at Angelina’s skilled contouring and also at how pretty Elle Fanning looked. Clarins Ladylike 2

IMG_4103Long, wavy and very blonde hair tied back into a princessy half-updo and fresh flushes of orange across her face (from running in fields of flowers), creating an innocent glow. For some reason there are no good screen grabs of her makeup, so you’ll just have to take my word for it on this one.

When I got home, I immediately thought of the new products I had received from Clarins–a nudey pink matte show, an illuminating brush and pink lipstick–these could easily recreate Elle’s delicate look.

I applied the pink shadow (Ombre Matte in Nude Pink) on my lid which brightened my eyes, and sparingly applied mascara (Elle wore little to none in the movie). The texture of this eyeshadow is quite powdery, and easy to apply. For a youthful flush, I used a generous amount of Make Up For Ever’s HD Cream Blush in #410, a coral shade. To touch up any dark areas, I applied the Instant Light Brush-On Perfector. This product comes in three shades, I have the fairest–I like to apply it under my usual concealer to brighten dark circles, or on pimples to cover them up. I really like this product’s consistency; very fluid, lightweight and easy to blend. To finish off my look, I applied the new Rouge Eclat in Pink Magnolia. I was a bit surprised by this one–I expected it to be quite a beigey-pink (similar to my Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle), but it’s actually quite bright on. I really love the consistency of Clarins lipsticks, and this one did not disappoint–hydrating, creamy and long-lasting.

The Clarins Ladylike Collection is now available online and in stores.
