Ahhh…nothing like celebrating some good news with some new luxe polishes. I had been dreaming of these colours for a few weeks, so I was a girl on a mission when I went for a good peruse of Holt Renfrew’s beauty floor last week.
I picked up the Chanel cult classic, Particulière and a new shade from their spring collection, Charivari. Having tried them both, I think I love them equally. They have the same great Chanel formula–no streaky and creamy, opaque colour with a high-shine, über glossy finish (I was seriously contemplating not applying topcoat to Charivari).
Particulière is a taupe mood-ring if you will–in some lights, I swear it is more of a smokey brown-beige, and in others, it appears to have more of a gray tone. Extremely neutral, and the most perfect plush greigey-nude I’ve ever seen.
Charivari is a dark purple with gray undertones. Not bright in the least, very understated. Very soft. I think the way the colour leans more towards cooler undertones makes it’s less wintery than if it had reddish, more plum/burgundy undertones. Instant favourite! Also, this colour in particular barely chips on me, I had zero big chips for a week! Just some light wear around the ends.
P.S. For my Canadian friends–Chanel beauty is now available online at The Bay!
